Rob Lops started his company in Bolsward in the Brunostraat working from his attic. Soon more staff was needed and Rob decided to hire more people. Meanwhile the attic became too small and a bedroom was transformed into an office. This remained Rob’s working place for the next ten years until a suitable house with a garage became available in the city centre of Bolsward. Without any hesitation Rob decided to buy this place in the Sint Jansstraat.
In 2006 Folkert Boermans knocked on his door, looking for a job. Folkert had worked as a shipwright at Rienstra Jachtbetimmering (Hogenelst) in Workum for five years. And, moreover, he was an experienced construction engineer. Folkert was hired and due to the harmonious collaboration between Rob and Folkert the idea arose to manage the company together.
In January 2008 Folkert and Rob officially became business partners. At the end of 2013 the property at Franekereind was bought and after an immense renovation Lido2D3D moved to the new location in April 2014. A new name, a new location and a new management team makes sure Lido 2D/3D is ready for the future.
January 2019 Rob Lops retired. Folkert continue as sole owner.
