Especially smaller shipyards were in need of high quality drawings. These often did not have a drawing room of their own. And that is how the idea to serve these shipyards came into being and so in 1995 a new company emerged; Lops Drawing Company. The initial idea to serve these smaller shipyards soon turned into serving the larger interior building companies settled in the Netherlands. These companies were often understaffed and logically became their target group and they still are.
Rob Lops started his company in Bolsward in the Brunostraat working from his attic. Soon more staff was needed and Rob decided to hire more people. Meanwhile the attic became too small and a bedroom was transformed into an office. This remained Rob’s working place for the next ten years until a suitable house with a garage became available in the city centre of Bolsward. Without any hesitation Rob decided to buy this place in the Sint Jansstraat.
